If you are to walk with God and reap the benefit, you need to realise that God doesn’t show up in situations He is not needed. Jesus knew Lazarus was sick yet he did not go and heal him (John 11:3-4). But, when he died Jesus went to raise him.
There are many rich families in Israel that can provide for Elijah during the famine. They don’t need a miracle but the widow of Zarephath did. Her hope of survival lied on a handful of flower. And I am sure she is already making her house ready for her departure to the great beyond before God showed up dramatically to her hopeless situation.
Likewise, the enemy had succeeded in putting the widow of Nain into everlasting grieve by killing her only son. All hope of having another child was gone because she was a widow and already advanced in years. (Luke 7:12). But, the Lord showed up unexpectedly to wipe her tears and turn her seemingly impossible situation around and restored her joy.
No matter how bad you situation might be; God is using today’s devotional to tell to be of ’good courage’. Hope and believe in the God of your salvation. Even when your situation seems hopeless; when your Lazarus is stinking don’t be discourage.
Don’t give up. Keep your head up. God will raise you above shame and mockery. You will come out to sing the song of victory in Jesus name.
